Summary

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is adding to its Web site a “Guidance on Advanced Approaches” series (GAA series) to address technical matters relating to the implementation of the advanced approaches risk-based capital rule.

Highlights

  • This guidance only applies to a few large banks and is primarily directed at examiners and bank personnel with extensive background knowledge of the advanced approaches rule.
  • The first of the GAA series has been posted on the OCC’s Capital Policy home page.

Note for Community Banks

This guidance generally does not apply to community banking organizations, defined as institutions with total consolidated assets of $10 billion or less.
