WASHINGTON — Deputy Comptroller for Operational Risk Carolyn G. DuChene today discussed enterprise risk management during a seminar for community banks held by Bank Safety & Soundness Advisor.
During her speech, the Deputy Comptroller highlighted the importance of enterprise risk management in banking today, and stressed the links between risk management and strategic and capital planning. “Sound management of risk across the enterprise, and good capital planning,” Ms. DuChene said, “enhance the banks’ ability to be competitive and continue serving the needs of their customers and communities, and it ensures ongoing viability during difficult economic periods.”
