WASHINGTON — The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today announced its schedule of workshops for directors of national community banks and federal savings associations.
The OCC examiner-led workshops provide practical training and guidance to directors of national community banks and federal savings associations to support the safe and sound operation of community-based financial institutions.
“Community banks and savings associations are essential to the growth and prosperity of communities across the country,” said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. “Bank directors have an important role in promoting the vitality of their institutions while ensuring the risks within those institutions are managed effectively. These workshops help bank directors understand regulatory issues, emerging risks, and their effects on their institutions.”
The OCC offers four workshops at a cost of $99 each:
The OCC offers the workshops nationwide to outside directors of national community banks and federal savings associations. Management directors may also find the workshops beneficial.
Workshops are limited to 35 participants. Attendees will receive pre-course reading and course materials, supervisory publications, and lunch.
