Deputy Comptroller for Public Affairs
Bryan Hubbard is the Deputy Comptroller for Public Affairs at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Mr. Hubbard provides public affairs advice to the Comptroller and senior management in the OCC, and oversees the agency’s external and internal communications. His responsibilities include directing the banking relations, congressional relations, editorial and design, FOIA, history, internal communications, minority affairs, press relations, speechwriting, and web and digital services functions. He reports to the Comptroller of the Currency and assumed this role in June 2016.
From 2008 through 2016, Mr. Hubbard served as Director for Public Affairs Operations, directing the agency’s press relations, internal communication, and web and electronic publishing programs. He joined the OCC in May 2005 as Special Advisor to the Deputy Comptroller for Public Affairs.
Prior to joining the OCC, Mr. Hubbard served in senior public affairs positions at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service, on the public affairs staff of the Secretary of the Air Force, and in the private sector.
Mr. Hubbard earned a bachelor of science in English from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a master's degree in communication from Arizona State. He has completed the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government’s Senior Executive Fellows program and is a Ragan Communications Fellow.
