Kay E. Kowitt

Kay Kowitt is the Deputy Comptroller for the Western District of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. She is responsible for the supervision of 180 institutions located in 19 states with assets totaling $165 billion. She is based in Denver, Colorado, and supervises a staff of 280 people, who operate out of 11 field offices and 9 satellite offices.

Prior to becoming the Deputy Comptroller, Ms. Kowitt worked in Washington, D.C., serving as the Senior Advisor to the Senior Deputy Comptroller for MidSize/Community Bank Supervision. She has been with the OCC for 39 years and has also functioned as a field manager and problem bank analyst in San Francisco, California, and a field examiner in Portland, Oregon.

Ms. Kowitt currently serves as an advisory member of the Board of Directors of the Pacific Coast Banking School. Ms. Kowitt is a graduate of the University of Oregon, with a degree in Management.
