TO: Chief Executive Officers and Compliance Personnel of all National Banks
The attached summary highlights the major provisions of the "Economic Growth and Regulatory Paperwork Reduction Act of 1996," which was signed into law on September 30, 1996. This legislation amends many laws that affect national banks, consumers, and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Many of its provisions were effective on the date of enactment.
