Robert L. Bloom

Robert Bloom served as Acting Comptroller of the Currency prior to the appointment of C.T. Conover, the 25th Comptroller of the Currency and the departure of John G. Heimann, 24th Comptroller of the Currency.

Robert Bloom joined the OCC in 1960 as a lawyer. He became Chief Counsel in 1961, and later became Senior Deputy Comptroller for Policy.

Prior to his service at the OCC, Mr. Bloom worked for a law firm in New York. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1947 and completed Harvard Law School in 1950. Prior to college, Mr. Bloom served in World War II. He was born in Glen Cove, New York on May 16, 1922.
