Norm Williams serves as Deputy Comptroller for Economic and Policy Analysis within Supervision Risk & Analysis (SRA) at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this capacity, Mr. Williams oversees three divisions—Economic and Banking Condition, Banking Industry Studies, and Policy Analysis—that support the OCC’s supervisory mission by conducting research and analysis to identify and assess key financial and economic risks to national banks and federal savings associations. The work of these divisions also contributes to the development, analysis, and implementation of agency policy. In addition, his staff provides technical expertise to other units within the OCC.
Mr. Williams came to the OCC from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where he served for ten years as an economist and then manager of economic analysis. Prior to this, he spent several years as a vice president and economist for a regional bank.
Mr. Williams holds a B.A. in economics and M.A. in business and economics.
